Digitizing History Classrooms

Russel Tarr in the article titled “WEB 2.0 IN THE HISTORY CLASSROOOM” outlines novel ways of incorporating digital tools in history classes to enhance students’ history education. Most of Tarr’s suggested tools, which he addresses in light of history classes in specific, may be similarly used in other classes. Tarr categorized the Web 2.0 tools into three broad categories based on their functions in history classes.

1. Tools to Develop Historical Knowledge
2. Tools to Develop Presentational Skills
3. Tools to Develop Historical Skills
